PROYECTO DULENEGA
FRIENDS:
The Collective Dulenega in its desire to continue offering shops, seminars
and conferences that qualify the indigenous population of Panama. This year
it proposes to support the initiative to publish a Calendar with pictures
of children, girls, women and men of the indigenous peoples ngöbe, dule
and emberá.
This collection of pictures of Lois Iglesias, photographer of the nation dule
with a wide experience in this field and multiple exhibitions in the national
environment, Lois is a member of the Collective Dulenega. With this proposal
we seek to enlarge the projects of the Collective Dulenega, as workshops on
Oral Literature, Identity and Environmental Education in the Indigenous Districts
of Panama, directed to children and youth.
This summer 2004 (January-March) we want to make a series of workshops directed
to this infantile and juvenile population, specifically in the area of Madungandi
and Ipeti Emberá. The workshops will be carried out by Collective members
who are specialists in these topics.
Collective DULENEGA
It is a collective of young professionals and technicians who develop different
independent activities of Kuna organizations, national and international.
It is NOT an NGO. It only develops activities of cultural promotion, events,
seminars, conferences and edition and publication of texts of general interest.
Besides what the Collective believes important to develop. It is not for profit
and all their activities are financed by their members and sympathetic friends
for concrete activities. We have in our credit the realization of two workshops
of oral literature, an international seminar of literature and education,
publication of texts and bulletins and our webpage: dulenega.nativeweb.org.
Calendar 2004:
This is a calendar that contains 12 pictures from Lois Iglesias, accompanied
by fragments of poems from indigenous and not indigenous writers and from
Panama, selected by the poet Arysteides Turpana and Iguaniginape Kungiler.
Also, with a brief review of the three indigenous peoples that the Calendar
is illustrated. Totally colored and printed on sulphite paper. At first it
is planned to print 5000 thousand copies (Depending the printer). Their contribution
is for the separation of colors and impression, the surplus contributions
will be dedicated for the summer activities.
Objective
To publish a Calendar with images and faces of ngöbe, dule, emberá
children, girls, women and men from Panama.
Prospective results
Our Application:
to materialize this idea we are requesting from you a donation for the separation
of colors and printing. Before the 15th of October 2003:
U.S$1000.00, As a Donating Niskua Dummad (Big Star) you will be given as recognition
a framed picture (18"x24") of one of those that will appear in the
calendar. 30 copies of the Calendar and their name inside the Calendar as
donor.
U.S$500.00, As Donating Pugasui (Eastern Star) will be given as recognition
a framed picture (11 x 17) of one of those that will appear them in the Calendar.
15 copies of the Calendar and their name as donor inside the calendar.
U.S$300.00, As Donating Niskua (Star) will be given as recognition a framed
picture (11"x 17") of one of those that will appear in the Calendar.
10 copies and their name as donor in the Calendar.
U.S$100.00, As Donating Niskua Bipi (Little Star) will be granted 10 copies
of the Calendar as recognition and their name as donor inside the Calendar.
